Pay €11 tracked return postage to start your postal video tape digitisation order.

After payment, you’ll receive instructions for sending your tapes to Retro Cameras Ireland in Athy, Co. Kildare.

Once your tapes arrive, we inspect them and confirm the exact digitisation cost before work begins. You do not need to identify every tape format yourself before ordering.

The €11 payment covers tracked return postage of your original tapes within Ireland. It is not an additional digitisation or assessment charge.

Video Tape Digitisation Prices

Standard video tapes — up to 2 hours each

€20 per tape for the first 9 tapes
€15 per tape from the 10th tape onwards

Standard formats include VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Video8, Hi8, Digital8 and MiniDV where standard pricing applies.

Professional and specialist video formats
Priced individually, from €40 per item.

Mouldy or damaged tapes
If a tape requires disassembly, cleaning or repair before digitisation, recovery work starts from €20 extra per affected tape, in addition to the normal digitisation charge.

We will always contact you before carrying out additional recovery work. You can decline the additional cost, have the affected tape returned, or proceed with the rest of your order only.

What Happens Next?

  1. Pay the €11 tracked return postage.
  2. Receive instructions for sending your tapes.
  3. We receive and inspect your tapes.
  4. We confirm the exact cost based on quantity, format and condition.
  5. You receive a secure payment link for the digitisation work.
  6. Once payment is received, we digitise the tapes and return your originals by tracked An Post delivery.

Completed digital files are retained for 30 days after your original tapes are shipped back.
